You are Invited to “Spread the Love”

Are you interested in making a positive impact within the local area? Do you have limited time and resources to give? If so, then 100 Women Who Care – Spread the Love might be for you!

100 Women Who Care – Spread the Love is one of more than 350 similar giving circles located worldwide that focus on coordinating funding for local, community charitable organizations.

We gather at quarterly meetings for one hour to hear three short presentations on local nonprofits in need. Members vote and each person writes a check for $100 directly to the winning nonprofit. The group is run entirely by volunteers with no administrative fees solicited from members.

All meetings are live at Pipe Dream Brewing starting with a 6pm social hour!

Join Sip & Script® for a Night of Learning Calligraphy for summer fun and pretty lettering for beginners! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY spouse-to-be, or just a crafty individual, in this workshop you’ll be learning an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. They will cover all the basics and get you ready to add those special lettered details to all your stationery needs. The perfect crafty night out!

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, a beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop!

Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food (food and drinks available to purchase throughout class too!). Class will start promptly at 6:00PM!

Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style! If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child as long as you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We do ask that anyone under the age of 16 is to be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times.

Finding someone can be painful. But board games are always awesome. So what if you combined board games and searching for a partner?

Picture this: You sit down for a night of games. A gaming concierge walks you through several games over the course of the night. You play classics you love and discover brand new games you've never heard of, playing each with a different group of fun singles. All while in a great establishment with plenty of delicious options on tap. At the end of the night, you give your gaming concierge a list of the folks you met that you'd like to date and a list of those you met that you'd like to just hang out with as friends. If any two people put down the same name as each other in either column, then your gaming concierge will make sure you get each other's e-mail address and you can coordinate a time to hang out.

Best case scenario: You find true love, discover some awesome board games, and make some new friends.

Bad case scenario: You accomplish only one of those three things, which is still pretty great.

Worst case scenario: There will be alcohol.

Before you decide to buy tickets, a few basics we should cover:

1) This event is for men & women, ages 25-39. We also have events for gay men and events for queer women. And we're hoping to add events to serve even more people in the future! 2) Refunds are only available to those who cancel with more than 24 hours' notice, in order to make sure we have enough time to find a replacement for you and keep the event well-populated. (Exceptions will be made for emergency situations on a case-by-case basis). After that, we're blowing the money from your ticket sale on something awesome and nonrefundable.

3) If we get to 24 hours before the event and still haven't sold five tickets for each gender, we will cancel the event (and notify you). When we have run this event in the past, tickets have consistently sold very well, so we don't expect this to happen. But we thought we should cover this in case it came up.

4) How many games we have and which ones we use will be based in part on how many people attend, so we can't tell you for sure what we'll have right now. But the goal is for all of them to be fun, light, easy-to-learn games. Selection will include games from both the something-you-have-played-before category and the something-you-haven't-played-before category. The games are also chosen because they often tend to spark conversation and leave room for chatting with new people as you play. All games will be group games, meaning you'll get a chance to meet a handful of people with each new round.
